Foundations For Faith is a free, two-year Bible Literacy course offered by New Life in Christ Church for High Schoolers in the Baldwin area. It is designed to give 9th-12th graders a comprehensive overview of the Bible from beginning to end and to develop lifelong habits of reading, studying, memorizing and meditating on the Word. Students look at the Scriptures from theological, literary, historical and scientific perspectives.
Foundations for Faith is held on Sunday evenings from 6:45-8:00 during the school year. It meets in the sanctuary of New Life in Christ Church in Baldwin, WI (1080 7th Ave). David George, the pastor, teaches and Jeremy Canaday assists with the class.
The course is presented in a traditional classroom format. The first year focuses on the Old Testament and the second year covers the Inter-Testamental Period, the New Testament and an Overview of Church History.
High Schoolers from any church are invited to participate. Late registrants are welcome! Each session is video-recorded and posted online for easy make-up when students are absent. No prior knowledge of the Scriptures is necessary to successfully begin and complete the course of study. Each student receives (free-of-charge) a hardcover ESV Bible, a binder, numerous maps, timelines and other handouts. Homework is limited to reading 7 chapters of the Bible each week and memorizing/meditating on 1 verse.
