In 1980, we began gathering at a home in Hammond, WI, for a monthly Bible study and invited Pastor Clarence Amundson from Zion New Testament Church in Ridgeland, WI, to teach. We soon outgrew that home and were invited to the home of Jack and Joyce King in Baldwin to continue the Bible Study.
By the next year we began holding Sunday morning church services. The first Sunday service of New Life in Christ Church was held on March 1st, 1981, in the Village offices then located in the basement of 1st National Bank of Baldwin. The church was named New Life in Christ after the New Life that we receive when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
At that time, Pastor Amundson turned the leadership of the church in Ridgeland over to Jeff King -- son of Jack and Joyce King -- and became the Pastor in our new church here in Baldwin.
Later, when the Village of Baldwin moved their offices to the old Eggen Grocery Store (now Baldwin Lightstream), our church moved there too. We continued meeting in the Village offices until 1984 when we purchased the old Baptist Church building on the corner of 7th and Maple, our present location. Our first service was held here on June 3rd, 1984.
Pastor Amundson ministered in our church for 33 years until he retired in June of 2014. Then in August of 2015, Pastor David George moved from Grand Forks, ND, to serve as the Pastor of our church where he ministers to this day.
